All settings gone

Hello,
I have been working with Configurator Reloaded for years and have never really had any problems. At the beginning of September, I updated to version 2.1.5 and everything continued to run normally.
Yesterday, I opened Photoshop, and Configurator Reloaded suddenly asked for my email address and license number. It opened, but all my settings had disappeared. Only the basic containers opened.
I do have a backup, but it's from April. In the meantime, there have been a number of updates to Photoshop, new keyboard shortcuts—everything was still in the trial phase.
Now everything is lost.
This is not only annoying, I am extremely disappointed.

Losing your settings is never pleasant, so I completely understand your frustration.
The settings for CR2 are stored in files within a special folder and are usually not deleted on their own. Not even during a plugin or Photoshop update.
The most likely causes would be (accidental) manual deletion, or deletion/blocking by an antivirus program or similar software.
If you have system backups, you can copy and restore the corresponding folder. After restarting Photoshop, your settings should be back.
Mac: /Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/net.pixelsucht.cr2
Windows: \Users<username>\AppData\Roaming\net.pixelsucht.cr2
